Carol Yates Art

About me

Carol has always been creative. She studied art at school but hadn’t painted in earnest until about 2010 after being inspired by a visit to a gallery. Her progress since then is largely due to personal learning and development.

In the early days, she experimented with watercolour and then moved on to soft pastels, renewing her love for this versatile medium. She works primarily in pastel but also uses mixed media for some of her paintings.

Carol is inspired by the natural world; her work to date has focused primarily on wildlife, but she has also ventured into still life and flora.

You can see selected works in the Gallery and by visiting  her studio at Farfield Mill in Sedbergh, which she shares with potter, Suzie Wright.
